The children really seem to have enjoyed their first full day of activities and have all survived relatively unscathed. Today Mrs Cohen's and Miss Gantz' groups had a day of canoeing on the river, Mrs C's and Mr Neat's group were on adventure (including zip wire and river scrambling to mention just two activities) and Miss Port's were caving.
Right now the children are out enjoying a twilight orienteering session following a dinner of sausage and mash.

Just a quick note to say that the children in my group have had a fantastic day and I'm extremely proud of all of them.
In their own way each child in the group overcame their fear of a certain activity that we encountered on our adventure day. Saul, Danny and Shanel were adamant they weren't going on the zip wire - but with encouragment from the group they all went on - TWICE!!
Despite not being a fan of the dark Harriet managed to walk for 10 mins in a pitch black tunnel without being able to see even the hand in front of her face.
Kayleigh and Cassandra battled up sheer rock faces and with help from Jade, Scott, William and Lia managed to overcome obstacles they were convinced they would never be able to manage.
And I have to say that whilst some children opted out of this evenings activity, all of my group were the first ready to be out of the door again. Though I am sure they will be the first to fall asleep too!
If they can keep up this supportive, 'can-do' attitude all week - we're in for a fantastic time!

Can't tell you how difficult this has been to log on for mum. (her great ict skills). Glad to see you're having a great time. We miss you. Mum says school is very quiet without yr 6. It is very quiet at home too. We now have baby fish too.

i had a fantastic day going caving it was tricky in some parts and i was a bit worried but then i done everything i wantedc to and im so happy i have otherwise i would have regreted it!! (Like charlotte said)

Just sat down after settling all the children in their rooms. My group had an amazing day canoeing and so did I! It was a bit hairy at first while we were trying to get our act together with rowing at the same time, turning the boat and avoiding the many obstacles in our path. However we really got the hang of it and I have to say we all worked as a great team and I was incredibly proud of all of them.
We also got to swim in the rapids, which was amazing. Don't worry, we didn't let anyone drift off, even though we tried a few times!
We are really looking forward to caving tomorrow and have got the letterbox, the washing machine and the wormhole to look forward to!
Will let you know how we get on.
